Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding 0x6100004a Error on HP OfficeJet Pro 6968!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

A Printer Failure 0x6100004a error message on your HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 can be caused by various issues. Here are the steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Check for obstructions in the carriage path

  1. With the printer on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Open the door to access the carriage inside the printer.
  3. Look for any debris such as crumpled paper or dislodged labels and remove them.
  4. Use your hand to move the carriage to each side to ensure it can move freely.
  5. Close the carriage access door.
  6. Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer on.

Ensure the cartridge access door is closed

  1. Open the cartridge access door.
  2. Remove the paper path cover and clear any torn paper, labels, or other obstructions.
  3. Reinsert the paper path cover so it doesn't interfere with closing the access door.
  4. Close the door, ensuring it is fully closed.

Clear the error message

  1. Remove the ink cartridges and restart the printer.
  2. Turn off the printer.
  3. With the printer off, open the cartridge access door.
  4. Turn the power on and wait for the carriage to move.
  5. Unplug the printer from power while it's on.
  6. Remove the ink cartridges manually if needed.
  7. Turn the printer back on and wait for it to complete the start-up sequence.
  8. Once the carriage returns to the center, install the ink cartridges. Repeat these steps up to three times if necessary.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
