Hi @Txtarpon,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The 0x6100004a error code on your HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 indicates a hardware failure or a serious issue with the printer that often requires some troubleshooting steps to potentially resolve it. Here’s a comprehensive guide to help you address the issue:

1. Perform Basic Troubleshooting

  • Turn Off: Press the power button to turn off the printer.
  • Unplug: Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait: Leave it unplugged for about 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect: Plug the power cord back in and turn the printer on.
  • Open all access doors and check for any paper jams or obstructions.
  • Remove any jammed paper carefully.
  • Open the cartridge access door and ensure the cartridges are properly seated.
  • Remove the cartridges and reinsert them to make sure they are securely in place.

2. Reset the Printer

  • With the printer turned on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  • Wait for 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.

Perform a Factory Reset (if accessible):

  • On the printer's control panel, go to Setup or Settings.
  • Look for Printer Maintenance or Service options.
  • Choose Restore Defaults or Factory Reset.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions.

3. Update Printer Firmware

  • Visit the HP Support website.
  • Search for your printer model and check if there are any firmware updates available.
  • Follow the instructions to download and install the latest firmware.

4. Check Printer Hardware

  • Check the printer for any visible signs of damage or loose components.:
  • Dust and debris can sometimes cause issues. Carefully clean the inside of the printer, including the paper feed rollers.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
