Please send me the instructions to restart the HP 2855 printer. I have tried the general processes involving unplug ect but I need the one sent from the HP tech to another user via email. It would be useful to share the information with everyone.

Hi @Reyer,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I can provide a set of steps that should help resolve the issue you're experiencing with your HP Deskjet 2855 printer.
If your HP Deskjet 2855 printer stops at the first dot during startup and basic troubleshooting (like unplugging) hasn’t worked, you can follow these additional steps:
Power cycle the printer:
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and from the power outlet.
- Wait for about 60 seconds to allow the printer’s internal components to reset.
- Plug the power cord back into the printer and the power outlet.
- Turn the printer back on.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- With the printer powered off, press and hold the Power button.
- While holding the Power button, plug the power cord back into the printer.
- Continue holding the Power button for about 10 seconds, then release it.
Check for Paper Jams:
- Open the printer’s paper tray and remove any paper.
- Open the printer cover and check for any stuck paper or debris inside the printer. If there is, carefully remove it.
Try a Different Power Source:
- If possible, plug the printer into a different power outlet, preferably one that's known to be working well (sometimes electrical issues or surges can cause printer startup issues).
Reset the Printer to Factory Defaults:
- If the above steps don’t resolve the issue, you may need to reset the printer to factory settings. Since the printer won’t fully start, you may need to use the printer’s built-in reset option, which can often be done by holding down specific buttons (such as "Cancel" or "Power") during startup. Check the printer manual for specific instructions on this.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
