My color cartridge will produce color when copying, but won't when sent from the computer

Upon someone's advice, I went into my printer settings and found that the printer was set to B & W, rather than color, so that anything I was trying to print did not have color, but was printed in black and white. Once I changed the printer setting, everything was all right.

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

This seems to be an issue with the drivers, let us try the below steps:

 

Step 1: Printer driver reinstallation

 

1) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features 

2) Select your HP Printer 

3) Select Uninstall 

4) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers 

5) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’ 

6) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo. 

7) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”) 

😎 Click on the “Drivers” tab 

9) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom 

10) Select Ok 

11) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows 

12) Close Devices and Printers 

 

Step 2: Download and install a fresh copy of HP full feature drivers from here

 

Step 3: Try to print in color

If the print settings are changed manually to print in B/W, you will have to change it to color to print in color. Glad to know that the printer is working fine now.
