I have the same issue.  Tried two computers, unplugged printer, uninstalled printer on all computers and reinstalled.  Keeps pausing print jobs.    Can anyone help?

I did a reinstall of the printer and now the printer says version 3 instead of 2 but still pops to pause when trying to print.

It will not allow me to update firmware due to apple, but I did download the HP Smart HP and have been printing through the app on my desk top until I can get the software straightened out.  It is NOT a printer issue as I can print through the new app.  So frustrating!

Sorry,  I meant the HP Smart App.

Go to youtube and search for hp printer certificate expired. There is a mac based video showing exactly how to find and reset the certificate for teh HP printer on the HP configuration page. It will propagate to all computers linked to that printer

so easy once you know where to look

I have the same problem. When I try to print on my Mac Air (Sequoia 15.2), The print queue pauses with an "expired certificate" message. I have updated the firmware, but the issue remains. I am able to print from my iPad, iPhone, and Windows/10 systems without issues.
