I'm constantly losing my internet connection to my printer.  I didn't have the problem until I upgraded to Win10.  I've looked at purchasing another printer, but I like the one I have except for the connection issue.  If I want to use it, I have to unplug/plug back in.  I've tried all the work arounds I've found using the HP Support Assistant on my laptop.  Can I use a usb to ethernet adapter as described in this document https://support.hp.com/id-en/document/c01078926 to more or less hard wire it to my router.

Check the printer firmware, latest is 1827B. (see network stats report)

I'm pretty sure I've done all the updates, but I will check that later this evening.

You have the latest firmware.

Try running the HP print & scan doctor program.

How far from the router is the printer?

You may also consider setting a static IP for the printer thru the EWS.

The printer is in my dining room and router in a bedroom.  There's probably 2 walls between the two.  What is EWS?
