HP OfficeJet Pro 8035e All-in-One Printer

Model: Deskjet 8035e

Everytime I go to print, wether it is from my mobile Android over the network, or my Desktop or Laptop, the first print of the day, takes about a 15-30 minute "Printer Maintenance being performed"  I have the printer set for a schedule to auto turn off over night and on in the AM.  I print maybe 1 thing every week.  But the printer is on for hours and the time I go to print for the first time, I get a hold of up to 30 minutes waiting for it to do something...   I am a sub for Intant Ink, so the firmware is auto updated on my printer.  This issue just started up about 6 monhts ago and has been frustrating to say the least.  I've seen other posts of people having this issue, but no followup or solutions selected.   I am about to see if this printer can fly if I have to deal with it much longer in this state.

Here is a list of tests I performed to correct this issue.....

  • I've factory reset the printer.
  • Firmware is up to date and auto updated.
  • Happens on Desktop/Laptop/Android (Doesnt matter what device I print from).
  • Latest drivers available installed on all endpoint devices and HP SMART apps.
  • I am an INSTANT INK subscriber and the info does refresh to HP of usage and stuff anytime printer is on, It doesnt do this maintenance to verify prints/usage that I can tell.  The printer will not work if it is not connected to the wifi, and the dashboard online shows me print a page the second I send the job and the printer starts its "maintenance" and then prints after.

If I print the first time, I have to wait for this maintenance to pass, then whatetever I print the rest of the day it is fine.  If I then power off the printer, then power on, and click print again, it does the same thing over again for me to wait up to 30 min. So it always happens at first print.  The printer can be ON for hours and could have performed this "Maintenance" before I need to use it, but it doesnt.  It waits until I need to print something, which ussually means I need that printed paper ASAP, so its super frustrating.

I am at a loss and no idea what to do next.  I love HP Printers and its all I'll use.  The prices for ink is abosultely mental, but the instant ink is perfect for me where the cost of all cartrages is twice the cost of the printer new, so the 2.99 a month makes it where  I never have dried up or past date ink (I would only get like 10 pages printed out of ink before I needed to replace because we print so seldom.  $26 or so a year and never have issues with ink or anything, perfect for me.  dont like paying nearly 200 for new ink every 6 months.
