@NM4114, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error code 0x61000048 on your HP printer typically indicates a carriage jam or internal hardware issue, even if there's no visible paper jam. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you resolve this:
Restart the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from the back.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn the printer on.
- Check if the error persists.
Check for Obstructions
Even if there's no paper jam:
- Open the printer access door.
- Gently move the carriage (ink cartridge holder) side to side to ensure it moves freely.
- Look for any small bits of paper or debris and remove them carefully.
Reset the Printer
- Disconnect the power cord while the printer is on.
- Unplug it from the wall outlet.
- Wait for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and power it on.
4. Use HP Smart’s Diagnose & Fix Tool
If the issue persists, use HP’s built-in diagnostic tool:
- Download or open the HP Smart app: HP Smart
- Go to “Diagnose & Fix” in the app.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to automatically detect and resolve issues.
Update Firmware and Drivers
- Visit HP Printer Support.
- Enter your printer model and download the latest firmware and drivers.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
