I have recently had issues with my broadband connection which has now been resolved but now when I try to print something on my HP DeskJet 2700e all- in -one printer its coming up as "no paper" although there is paper in the printer. I have double checked to make sure that nothing is jammed and that's all ok, so I don't know what to do to resolve the "no paper" issue?

I understand there are a few reasons why your HP DeskJet 2700e might be showing a "no paper" error even though there is paper in the tray. 

 

Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

 

  • Check Paper Alignment: Make sure the paper is properly aligned in the paper tray. Sometimes, if the paper is not aligned correctly, the printer may not detect it.
  • Paper Type and Size Settings: Ensure that the paper type and size settings on your printer match the actual paper loaded in the tray. Sometimes, if there's a mismatch, the printer may not recognize the paper.
  • Reset the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes resolve temporary glitches.
  • Update Printer Drivers: Check if there are any updates available for your printer drivers. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause communication issues between the printer and the computer.  Software and Drivers for HP DeskJet 2700e All-in-One series
  • Printer Firmware Update: Similarly, ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Update the firmware on an HP printer
  • Clean Paper Feed Rollers: Dust and debris on the paper feed rollers can sometimes cause paper detection issues. Clean the rollers using a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water.
  • Check for Obstructions: Even if there are no visible paper jams, there could still be small pieces of paper or debris stuck in the printer's paper path. Carefully inspect the printer for any obstructions and remove them.
  • Try Different Paper: If possible, try using a different stack of paper. Sometimes, the issue could be with the paper itself, such as it being too thick or too thin for the printer to detect.
