I have a problem with my printer saying it has a poor wi fi connection - it seems it does not but the constant beeps are annoying.

The service from HP is poor to say the least yesterday hung on the phone for an hour and then cut off today trying WhatsApp and currently 1 Hr and 40 minutes and no reply.

Hi @OWM1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your printer is indicating a poor Wi-Fi connection. There are several steps you can take to diagnose and resolve the issue. Here are some troubleshooting tips:

Check the Network Configuration:

  • Print a Network Configuration Page from your printer's control panel. This will show the current network settings and a list of detected wireless networks along with their signal strength.

  • To print this page, go to the printer control panel, touch or swipe down to open the Dashboard, and select Setup, then Reports.

Positioning of the Printer:

  • Ensure that your printer is placed within the range of the Wi-Fi router. Avoid placing it near objects that may cause interference, such as microwaves or cordless phones.

Restart the Devices:

  • Turn off the printer, router, and computer/mobile device. After a minute, turn them back on to see if it resolves the connectivity issue.

Check for Router Firmware Updates:

  • Ensure that your wireless router has the latest firmware installed. Outdated firmware might cause connectivity issues.

Use a Wired Connection (if possible):

  • If the problem persists, consider connecting the printer using an Ethernet cable to see if the issue is resolved.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

Hard wired it stopped using Wi Fi - not ideal but it works now to hide the wires!!

Glad to hear it’s working—like tucking the wires neatly out of sight, it brings a little calm to the space.
