OfficeJetPro 8600
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

One email print from computer via home Wi-Fi to printer has not printed - possibily interrupted by turning off computer in meantime.

Will not respond to delete, restart commands in the print queue table. "Error Processing Command"

Other items in print queue (after this one) easily deleted.

Able to print over home Wi-Fi from cell phone to printer.

No previous problems.

Have rebooted (twice) both the computer and the printer

Welcome to HP Support Forum. I think you need to remove the queue. For Windows, please try:

  • Hold down the Windows key and press R.
  • From the Run window, type services.msc and hit enter.
  • If the machine asks for Admin you have to accept this,
  • Look down to the print spooler service, right click it and select properties
  • Click on the Stop button,
  • Browse to C:\Windows\System32\Spool\printers or C:\Windows\System\Spool\printers (this may be hidden)
  • Delete the job inside this folder
  • Reboot the machine

Regards.

This was very helpful.  Thank you.  The first five lines work as you suggested, and did get rid of the message/print that was "hanging up" the spooler. The next line (Browse . . .) did not work.  However, I was able to reconnect the printer to computer using the already created HP Officejetpro 8600 software app that was on my computer.  All seems to work well now.
