Hi!
HP downloaded an update to my 8720 printer. Today, when I tried to copy a document and hit color, I got an access denied message saying I do not have permission to use this feature. I downloaded the printer manual from HP but is says nothing about setting permissions. As far as I was able to determine, this "feature" is available on some HP printers, just not the 8700 series. How do I FIX this? (Note: Other problems since the "update" include the screen staying on instead of turning off after a few minutes. When this happens, you cannot print documents or turn the printer off with the power button. In order to power down the printer, you have to remove the power cord from the wall. After reapplying power, you push the power button. After the printer starts, you can print documents.)

@Ric_65, Welcome to HP Support Community!
The only option left is to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.
Hope this helps!

Hi!
Right idea doing a factory reset. On the 8720 printer, the correct sequence is:
Touch the "Gear" in the upper left of the touch screen.
In this screen, again touch on the "Gear" in the upper left.
Scroll down and touch "Printer Maintenance".
At the bottom of the screen touch Restore.
Thanks for your help, TEJ1602!
