My laptop suddenly is reading this "Attention Required" on printer status. All my other devices are working fine. This laptop used to be fine but now does not want to print. What exactly does "Attention Required" mean and how do I fin dout what to do?

Hi @JonathanH,
Welcome to the HP forums! It is a great way to engage, post questions and find resolutions by working with specialists in the HP community. I see from the post that you are getting an error message on your HP laptop. I'll try my best to help you with this.
I would start by checking the installed printer software by downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor. This tool can diagnose and fix many printing and printer software related issues. Please use this link to help you with that information: http://hp.care/2biN2XE
If the issue persists, I would suggest you follow these steps:
Clear the Printer Spooler Files and Enable the Spooler Service to see if this will help.
1. Hold down the Windows Logo key () on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the run box, type Services.msc .
2. Double-click Printer Spooler in the Services list.
3. Click on the Stop button and click OK.
4. Hold down the Windows Logo key () on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the run box, type"%WINDIR%\system32\spool\printers, then delete all files in this folder.
5. Go back to services by holding down the Windows Logo key () on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the run box, type Services.msc again.
6. Double-click Printer Spooler in the Services list.
7. Click on the Start button. In the Startup Type list, make sure that Automatic is selected and click OK.

Did not help.
My HP 5740 used to work but now gives "Attention Required" message when printing. I have downloaded most recent firmware and installed it. Rebooted the printer (power and unplugged). Restarted the Windows 10 operating system. Nothing helps. The claim by an HP representative is that my printer's IP address is invalid for the public WiFi system made available to us residence in my apartment complex but I disagree since I used to be able to print on the WiFi network. Something changed, but what?
