Product: HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer

I have a HP ENVY PHOTO 7855 and I notice today that I can't get the status of my inks I am being redirected to purchasing a new printer which I don't need if mine is still working. So why in the hell do I need to spend more money on something that I don't need???? I pay a monthly fee for the insta ink program which has been wonderful and I just received my new inks when I didn't know I needed to replace them. Any way to get the status with out buying a new printer, if I need to buy one I am really thinking of going with an Epson.
