Our Printer has dropped its WiFi connection to our computer, on Printer Control Panel the WiFi Direct is OFF. When icon touched, the Status is OFF, WiFi Direct name is: DIRECT-b3-HP M277 LaserJet and Wifi Direct Password is 12345678.
In Settings, the Printer the Password is required. If you enter this Password '12345678', it says 'Password is invalid' and we can't go any further. We have never changed any Passwords on the Printer.
The Network WiFi is ON.
The Wireless Network Test Report, Troubleshooting says: Your wireless router requires a WPA security passphrase. The passphrase configured on your HP Printer does not match exactly. Run the wireless network setup to re-enter your wireless network WPA security passphrase.
The WPA authentication method on your HP Printer has been changed from the default setting. This may cause problems when connecting to your wireless network, if your wireless router is not using the same WPA authentication method.
Nothing can be done until this Printer WiFi Direct Password problem is sorted out.
HELP! Thank you all.

Further to above Post. Kat-nz.
Have located Installation CD & re-installed Printer and discovered it was installed as USB connection to computer NOT wireless. It will print from computer now, yay! but the Password as stated on Printer screen, '12345678' is still treated as Invalid when entered so no Settings can be altered via the Printer itself.
When re-installing via CD the Configuration page didn't cover Passwords or how to change from Default Password. I have read PDF Manual and info on Passwords minimal. It says when you to change Password to enter Old Password. That 'Old Password' is now invalid so we're back to square one! Printer screen still has the same default Password shown after re-instal and it's still Invalid when entered.
So weird.
Any ideas anyone?

Welcome to HP Forums,
This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.
Perform a wireless network diagnostic test
From the product control panel, you can run a diagnostic test that provides information about the wireless network settings.
1. From the Home screen on the product control panel, touch the Setup button.
2. Open the Self Diagnostics menu.
3. Touch the Run Wireless Test button to start the test. The product prints a test page that shows the test results.
And check if the test passes.
Try "00000000" as the password for the wireless direct and check if it works.
