HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277dw
Microsoft Windows 11

During the night the printer began printing a 191 page doc... all the doc says is

Content-Length: 191

Content-Type: application/ipp

HOST: localhost

then a line of jibberish.

The print job does not show up in the HP printer queue; I can cancel the job on the printer's control panel but then it immediately starts over. HELP

@PStoots, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Printing Issues on HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277dw!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It appears that your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M277dw is encountering issues possibly related to incorrect or corrupted print commands being sent to the printer. Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Step 1: Check for Incompatible Print Settings

Ensure that there are no incompatible print settings. Incompatible settings can lead to unexpected results. If invalid settings are being configured, warning messages should appear, and you can revert to the previous state to resolve conflicting settings.

Step 2: Pause and Cancel Print Jobs

On the printer's control panel, use the "Pause" button to halt the current print job. If it resumes printing immediately, make sure to press "Cancel" and then "Delete" on the job queue to completely terminate it.

Step 3: Network Connection Check

Perform the following checks on your network connection:

  • Ensure bi-directional communication settings via IPP and SNMP are enabled.
  • Ping the printer’s IP address to confirm it is reachable.
  • Check the HP Smart UPD target port defined by the host name or IP address.

If needed:

nslookup printer_dns_name
tracert printer_ip_address

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
