Hi @Pkayyy,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When your printer displays a "printer block" message but there is no visible obstruction, it could be an issue with the printer's internal components, software, or sensor errors. Here are some steps to help you troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Step 1: Power Cycle the Printer

  1. Turn Off the Printer:Unplug the PrinterWait for 60 Seconds:Plug the Printer Back In:Turn On the Printer

Step 2: Check for Paper Jams

Step 3: Check the Carriage Path

  1. Turn Off the Printer:
    • Make sure the printer is turned off.
  2. Open the Ink Cartridge Access Area:
    • Open the top cover to access the ink cartridge area.
  3. Manually Move the Carriage:
    • Gently move the ink cartridge carriage to the left and right to ensure it moves freely. Look for any obstructions or debris that might be blocking its path.
  4. Close the Access Area:
    • After ensuring the carriage path is clear, close the top cover.

Step 4: Clean the Printer Rollers

  1. Access the Rollers:
    • Refer to your printer's manual to locate the rollers. They are usually accessible from the rear panel or through the paper tray area.
  2. Clean the Rollers:
    • Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to clean the rollers. Rotate the rollers manually to ensure thorough cleaning.
  3. Dry the Rollers:
    • Allow the rollers to dry completely before closing the printer.

Step 5: Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
    • Open the ink cartridge access area and remove the ink cartridges.
    • Leave the printer off and the ink cartridges out for about 10 minutes.
    • Reinsert the ink cartridges securely.
    • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Step 6: Update Printer Firmware and Drivers

  1. Visit the HP Support Website:
    • Go to the HP Support website and search for your printer model.
  2. Download and Install Updates:
    • Download and install any available firmware and driver updates for your printer.

Step 7: Perform a Printer Diagnostic

  1. Use the HP Smart App:
    • If you have the HP Smart app installed, use it to perform a diagnostic check on your printer. Follow the app’s instructions to troubleshoot and resolve any detected issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
