I turn my printer on, it boots in firmware and then flashes a light blue screen with the code C4EB827F, and then displays a black screen with white letters saying "There is a problem with the printer. Turn the printer off, then on". No amount of turning it off and on will fix the issue.

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Reset the printer-

  1. Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  5. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  6. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  8. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  9. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Update the printer firmware-

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

If the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure. Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Hope this helps!

Hi, thanks for your reply. So I found your instructions before and I tried plugging directly into a wall outlet and this worked, however the printer firmware is already up to date. Now the issue is that the scanner does not work whether using network scan or directly from the printer itself. I have tried multiple ways and times and it just errors out. I suspect something with the electronics although it is weird since I was using it to scan only a couple of days prior. Unfortunately this printer is long out of warranty so unless you have some free options for me to try, I wont both paying to have this repaired.

Thank you for posting back.

Let's check if the scanner bar lights up and if it moves?

Keep me posted!
