Hi @ChazMoran,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet 8015e printer is frequently going offline, here are some troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue.
Check the Printer’s Network Connection
- Ensure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your device. If it’s on a different network, it may cause intermittent connection issues.
- Restart your router and the printer to refresh the network connection.
- You can also try reconnecting the printer to the network by navigating to the printer's Network Setup menu.
Update Printer Firmware
- Ensure that your printer's firmware is up-to-date. Outdated firmware can cause connectivity issues.
- You can update the printer's firmware through the HP Smart app or the printer's web interface.
Reinstall the Printer Driver
- On your computer, uninstall the printer driver and software and reinstall it. You can download the latest drivers from the HP Support site.
Set Printer as Default
- Make sure your HP OfficeJet 8015e is set as the default printer in your computer’s settings:
- Windows: Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and choose Set as Default.
- Mac: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, and make sure your printer is selected as the default.
Disable Sleep Mode on the Printer
- Some printers go offline after a period of inactivity if they are in Sleep Mode.
- You can disable or adjust the sleep settings from the printer's menu.
Check for IP Address Conflicts
- If your printer is assigned a static IP address, make sure it’s not conflicting with other devices on the network. You can check the printer's IP address through its settings menu or the HP Smart app.
Use a Wired Connection (Optional)
- If the wireless connection continues to drop, consider using a wired connection via Ethernet or USB to reduce instability.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
