Printer prints Scanner Alignment page every time my HP6055 printer is turned on or prints a print job. I have about 30 copies of the page from just today's print jobs. I have reloaded the software, hard booted the printer and computer. Nothing seems to help. I can Print and Scan documents both in color and B/W.

Hi @Barb1298
It sounds like your HP ENVY 6055 is stuck in a loop where it prints the Scanner Alignment Page every time it powers on or after every print job. Since you've already tried reinstalling the software and restarting, here are a few more things to try:
1. Check for Any Paper Jams
Even if the printer is printing normally, there could be a small paper jam or obstruction inside that's causing it to trigger the alignment page repeatedly.
- Open all doors and check for any tiny pieces of paper or debris that might be causing an issue.
- Check the scanner glass for any dirt or residue that could be causing the scanner to think it needs realignment.
2. Cancel Alignment Process
Sometimes the printer gets stuck in an alignment loop. You can try manually canceling the alignment process.
- When the Alignment page prints, cancel the print job immediately from the printer's control panel.
- Check if you can access a Cancel Alignment option from the printer's menu.
3. Perform a Printer Reset
A full reset can help clear any stuck settings:
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug the printer from the power source.
- Wait for 1-2 minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.
4. Check Ink Cartridges
Sometimes, the printer may ask for alignment if it detects an issue with the ink cartridges.
- Remove and reseat the ink cartridges to ensure they are properly installed.
- Inspect for any visible damage to the cartridges or contacts.
- If possible, try replacing the ink cartridges if they're old or damaged.
5. Check Printer Settings
Sometimes a setting can be causing the printer to repeatedly print the alignment page.
- Go to the printer’s settings (on the control panel) and look for options related to alignment or calibration.
- Make sure that any automatic alignment feature isn’t turned on and repeating every time.
6. Firmware Update
Outdated firmware can sometimes cause erratic behavior, including unnecessary alignment page prints.
- Check if there’s an available firmware update for your printer through the HP Smart app or the HP website.
- Follow the instructions to update your printer firmware.
7. Factory Reset the Printer
If the issue persists, you may need to restore the printer to its factory settings:
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Defaults or Reset.
- This will clear all custom settings, so be prepared to set up the printer again afterward.
8. Check for Software Conflicts
Since you've reloaded the software, it's worth ensuring there are no conflicts between multiple drivers or software versions:
- Uninstall any old or duplicate HP software from your computer.
- Download and install the latest version of the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store or HP's official website.
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
