HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw

My printer required a firmware update a few weeks back, and ever since it was installed, my printer just continuously reboots itself - sometimes showing a "Service Error 79" code.  I have unplugged it.  Tried to restore factory settings, etc and no luck.  I have used this printer for less than 500 pages - just installed new toner cartridges less than 3 months ago.  Not happy at all.  Please help!

The problem is that the most recent firmware is bad, and results in the "Server Error 79" every time the printer tries to connect to the network.

If you connect the printer to the network via ethernet cable, disconnect the cable.  If you connect the printer to the network via Wi-Fi, then a unplug/wait30seconds/plugin hard power cycle should get the printer to its "Ready" menu, at which point you have maybe 15-30 seconds to click the Wi-Fi icon in the upper right corner and turn off Wi-Fi before it tries to connect to the network.  In either case, once you can get the printer to boot cleanly to the "Ready" menu without it trying to connect to the network, then you'll be golden.

From there, firmware downgrade instructions can be found at https://www.reddit.com/r/printers/comments/jpgpp3/hp_laserjet_pro_m280_m281_printer_series_20200612/

I hope this helps -- good luck!
