Hi! Printer seems to be "hung up" as if unfinished with some task. Get error message (in Norwegian) Cartridge can't be used until registered with HP Instant Ink. It has been registered there since the printer was new. If I press OK there on the screen, it wants to adjust the printhead and print a test page, but "works and works" and nothing happens. Even turning on and off, the screen is stuck at the same messages, and can't be used. It can't be turned off without removing current supply, seems to be jammed (electronically and not because of any paper jam). Have tried turning Internet off and on and the printer off and on, and tried various suggestions on help page, including HP Doctor, without  avail. Am grateful for any suggestions, as I'm impatient to get it working and get things done...

If you remove the ink, do you still get the error message? Do you have any spare ink to try?

 

Also, try a firmware update: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/ish_1776648-1643972-16

Hi and thanks for your reply. 

Taking the ink out and putting it back didn't help, got message that ink had to be replaced. Unfortunately I didn't have any new replacement cartridges, only empty used ones.

 

Had tried updating the printware a few days ago without avail. Seems like the HP Smart App and printer have problems communicating, although the network connection is ok (blue light on). 

 

And as the screen is stuck on one message, I can't follow instructions on the computer screen which involve using the printer menu.

 

Had contact a few days ago with a Swedish chap at HP support who gave me some advice which didn't help, but he's going to contact some expert and get back to me. 

 

The printer is less than a year old.
