My printer invariably prints several copies even though just one is selected. During printing I get a message suggesting the printer is offline and to retry or cancel print job. If I am not there when done to cancel print job, more copies will be printed. Everything is in order in terms of connections so why am I getting these messages? Something is clearly amiss!

Hi @AlanBG01,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP ENVY 6032e All-in-One Printer is experiencing two issues:
- Printing multiple copies even when only one is selected.
- Displaying an "offline" message during printing.
Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot these problems:
1. Check Printer Settings and Drivers
Update Printer Driver: Ensure that the printer driver on your computer is up to date. An outdated or corrupted driver can cause printing issues. You can download the latest driver from the HP Support website.
Reset Print Settings: Go to your computer's "Devices and Printers" settings, right-click on your HP ENVY 6032e printer, and select "Printer Properties." Check the number of copies set for printing. Make sure it's set to "1" and not more. Also, reset any custom printing preferences to default settings.
2. Clear Print Spooler
The print spooler is a service that manages print jobs in Windows. Sometimes, it can get stuck or become corrupted.
Clear Print Queue: Go to "Devices and Printers," right-click on your printer, and select "See what's printing." If there are any stuck print jobs, clear the queue.
Restart Print Spooler:
- Press Win + R to open the Run dialog, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Scroll down to find "Print Spooler," right-click on it, and select "Restart."
3. Check Connection and Network Settings
Verify Printer Connection: Make sure the printer is properly connected to your network. If you're using a Wi-Fi connection, ensure it's strong and stable. Consider moving your printer closer to the router if needed.
Set Printer to Online Mode: Right-click on the printer icon in "Devices and Printers" and ensure that the printer is not set to "Use Printer Offline."
4. Check for Firmware Updates Update the firmware on an HP printer
Sometimes, firmware updates for the printer can resolve issues.
- Update Printer Firmware: Go to the HP Support website, enter your printer model, and check for any available firmware updates. Follow the instructions to update the firmware.
5. Reinstall the Printer
If the issue persists, try reinstalling the printer.
- Uninstall Printer Software: Go to "Settings" > "Devices" > "Printers & scanners," select your printer, and click "Remove device."
- Reinstall Printer: Follow the installation instructions from the HP Support website or use the HP Smart app to reinstall the printer.
6. Check for Printer Errors
- Check Printer Display: Sometimes, the printer itself might have a warning or error message that gives more detail on the issue.
Refer to this document: HP ENVY 6032e All-in-One Printer User manual
Please refer to this document if there are any error codes HP DeskJet, ENVY 6000, 6400 - Blinking lights and error codes
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
