Hi @Richard4404,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Encountering an error message indicating a problem with the printer or ink system can be frustrating, but there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Restart Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on again. Sometimes, a simple reset can resolve temporary issues with the printer's ink system.

Check Ink Levels: Ensure that the ink cartridges have sufficient ink levels. Low ink levels or empty cartridges can cause errors related to the ink system. Replace any depleted cartridges with new ones if necessary.

Inspect Cartridges: Remove the ink cartridges from the printer and inspect them for any damage or leaks. Clean the cartridge contacts and the corresponding contacts inside the printer with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water to ensure proper communication.

Reinstall Cartridges: Reinstall the ink cartridges into their respective slots, making sure they are securely seated and properly aligned. Ensure that you've removed any protective seals or tapes from the cartridges before installation.

Run Printhead Cleaning: Use the printer's maintenance menu to run a printhead cleaning cycle. This can help clear any clogs or debris that may be affecting the ink flow within the printhead.

Update Printer Firmware: Make sure your printer has the latest firmware installed. HP occasionally releases firmware updates to address issues with the ink system and improve overall performance.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
