HP DeskJet 2810e All-in-One Printer

I have put in two new cartridges today but am now getting an error message when trying to print.

On the printer itself the colour cartridge light is flashing.

Hi @Chicken21,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the color cartridge light on your HP DeskJet 2810e is flashing, it typically indicates an issue with the color cartridge. Here are some steps to troubleshoot.

Check Cartridge Installation:

  • Open the cartridge access door and make sure the cartridges are properly seated in their slots. They should click into place.

Remove and Reinsert Cartridges:

  • Carefully remove the color cartridge and check for any protective tape or packaging material that might still be on it.
  • Reinsert the cartridge and ensure it’s fully and correctly installed.

Clean Cartridge Contacts:

  • Gently clean the electrical contacts on the cartridges and the printer with a lint-free cloth or cotton swab lightly moistened with water. Allow everything to dry completely before reinserting the cartridges.

Check for Error Messages:

  • Look at the printer’s display or the HP Smart app for any specific error codes or messages that might provide more details.

Perform a Printer Reset:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on to see if the issue persists.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Check HP’s website for any available updates.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
