Whole message is:  Printer failure. there is a problem with the printer or print system.  Turn printer Off, then On.  (Did several times) If you continue to get this message, contact HP (impossible). Then this:  0x6100004a

 

REALLY need my printer and fax!!!

Try these steps:

Power Cycle the Printer

  1. Turn Off the Printer: Press the power button to turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug the Power Cord: Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer and from the wall outlet.
  3. Wait: Leave the printer unplugged for at least 60 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the Power Cord: Plug the power cord back into the printer first, and then into the wall outlet.
  5. Turn On the Printer: Press the power button to turn the printer back on.

Check for Paper Jams

  1. Open Printer Access Doors: Open all access doors to check for paper jams.
  2. Remove Any Jammed Paper: Carefully remove any paper bits or stuck sheets.
  3. Check Paper Path: Ensure there are no obstructions in the paper path.
