I am getting the message:

 

printer failure:

There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn printer off, then on. If problem persists, contact HP.
 
1Turned off printer. Turned back on.
2unplugged while printer on, then plugged back in and turned on
3took out the printer head
4no paper jams
 
tried and still nothing

To fix this issue, try the steps below:

  • Clean the ink cartridges, and then check the error message
  • Update the printer firmware

  • Reseat the printhead up to three times

Note: Sometimes error messages persist after inserting the printhead. To clear any error messages, reseat the printhead up to three times.

If issue persists, try advanced reset on the printer.

I'm going to send you a private message with the information required to perform the reset. The only reason why we are utilizing the instructions over the private message as these instructions are specific to your printer model.

 

To check your private message, please check your Private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile.

Next, to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
