HP ENVY Inspire 7955e All-in-One Printer

Hello,

I have an Envy7955e printer and I have been having issues with printing on anything heavier than basic printer paper.
When I go to print, it feeds one blank sheet of paper, then begins printing a second, without feeding the paper right away so it prints about halfway through the image.
It was working, but this started the other day after switching to a new brand of paper to print stickers with. Even the first few pages worked but soon after I was getting this issue and now it doesn't print properly at all.

I've tried the basic troubleshooting - turning it on and off, checking that the paper type settings match on both PC and the printer, cleaning the feed rollers, running an alignment test/cleaning page, etc

This printer is only about a year and a half old, any has fallen just out of factory warranty.

Hi @RayaWillow

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.

It sounds frustrating to deal with those printing issues, especially with a relatively new printer. Since you’ve already tried some basic troubleshooting, here are a few more steps you can take:

Check Paper Type and Weight:

  • Ensure that the sticker paper is compatible with your printer. Sometimes, different brands can have different thicknesses or coatings that might not work well.
  • Verify that you’re using the correct paper type setting in the printer's properties on your PC. Set it to “Heavy” or “Glossy” if applicable.

Adjust Paper Guides:

  • Make sure the paper guides in the tray are snug against the paper without being too tight. This helps the printer pull the paper through correctly.

Inspect the Paper:

  • Check for any defects or curls in the sticker paper. Even minor imperfections can cause feeding issues.
  • If possible, try a different batch of the same type of paper or switch back to the basic printer paper to see if the issue persists.

Check for Blockages:

  • Open the printer and check for any paper jams or obstructions in the paper path. Even small bits of paper or dust can cause feeding issues.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Make sure your printer’s firmware is up to date. Sometimes, updates can resolve printing issues. You can usually find firmware updates on the HP support website.

Reset the Printer:

  • Perform a factory reset on the printer. Refer to the printer's user manual for specific instructions on how to do this. Keep in mind that this will revert all settings back to default.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
