HP Deskjet 2632
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello

Got a HP Deskjet 2632 a few months ago but it seems to be very finicky.

Often when you print it will draw the paper in but just sit there, you can see the paper from where it comes out. The printer then complains of a paper jam even though the paper isn't jammed at all. You can press the button on top which will pull in a new bit of paper and it will discard the paper it just took, then take another and sometimes print as normal.

This happens nearly every time you try to print. I've changed the ink, cleaned the printer (it's practically new!) and checked for any bits of paper inside. Nothing.

Any ideas?

I am going maaaaaaaaaad

Welcome to HP Forums. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

I understand that you keep getting a false Paper Jam alert on your HP Deskjet 2632

I'll try my best to help.

I suggest we start with a Printer Reset

(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.
(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed

Then update the Firmware from this Link: https://hp.care/2JPwg8d

Next use an automated tool to clean the paper rollers

  1. Turn on the printer.

  2. Remove any paper from the input tray.

  3. Press and hold the Power button, press the Cancel button three times, press the Start Copy Color button seven times, and then release the Power button.

The printer makes some noise for approximately one minute. Wait until the printer stops making noises before you proceed.

Also clean the Ink Smears

  1. Turn on the printer.

  2. Load paper into the input tray.

  3. Press and hold the Power button, press the Cancel button three times, press the Start Copy Color button eight times, and then release the Power button.

The printer feeds one page slowly. The printer might make some noise for approximately one minute. Wait until the page is out of the printer before you remove it.

Let me know how it goes

Thank you 🙂

Hi, I tried your method. I switched on the printer f4488 and pressed the power button then while it was still pressed i pressed the X (cancel) button 3 times then the copy color button (green) 7 times and then released the power button

the printer ran continuously for more than 4 mins. I had to disconnect it from the mains as it was not stopping.

I reconnected the power cable and the problem is the same

Here is what happens. The minute i switch on the printer it makes noises then sucks the paper in and stops half way. (No jam )

then the paper icon shows on the display LCD screen with and exclamation mark blinking on top (although there is more paper in the tray)

then the printer just remains like that the whole time until i click cancel and it feeds out the paper but repeats the same thing again. It just sucks paper in half the way and says no more paper in input tray

what can i do ? I tried all sorts of resets

I am having the same problem with my HP Photosmart C4680.  Each time I send a print job to it, the printer will start to print and then pull a piece of paper through halfway and stop.  It flashes that it is printing and nothing happens.  I hit the red X to cancel and nothing happens, just flashing that it is canceling.  I've tried everything, cleaning the rollers, the power reset, disconnecting and shutting down the printer, the computer.  When I turn the printer back on it will feed a piece of paper halfway and stop.  Or if the paper is still in when it is turned on, it will feed it out and grab another and hold it halfway.  HELP!!

I ended up buying genuine HP Photographic paper and it works.

I'm still having this issue. Not long after the original post it came back to life and often just turning the printer on and off would fix it, but not always. Sometimes I have to reinstall the printer to get it to work. Which it does for only a couple of days.

I barely needed to use the printer thank god but now my partner is studying its back in action and this printer is still misbehaving.

The firmware link doesn't take me to any firmware.

This printer is an absolute nightmare.
