Hi, so I bought this printer today (HP Deskjet 2630) from Currys PC World and when I got home and tried to set it up it for some reason as soon as I connected it to my laptop wanted to print I believe a 'test page' and when printing the page gets stopped midway and the Ink alert light, the resume light, the information light, the power light, and the Control panel display keeps flashing/ blinking. I've tried deleting all the previous drivers and stuff but nothing seemed to help I've even looked all over the internet and again, no luck. But when I tried to Xerox a page without my laptop connected it works. Hopefully, someone can help me I would really appreciate it.
Thanks!!

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂 I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I understand that you have an HP DeskJet 2620 printer. I read from your post that you are having issues connecting your printer to the laptop. No worries, I'll be glad to help you.
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
Have you recently made any changes on the printer before the issue started?
How is the printer connected? USB/Wireless
As you have mentioned in your post that you are able to make a copy from the printer, this definitely looks like a software or driver conflict.
In this scenario, I would suggest here is to uninstall the existing printer drivers from the root level and then reinstall them.
- Press “Windows key” + “r” to get the “Run” window.
- Type "services.msc" to get Services – Go to “Print spooler” – Right-click and “Stop” the service.
- Now again open "Run" - Type “spool” and ok - Go to PRINTERS folder - delete everything in that folder.
- Go to services again - Start the print spooler.
- Now check for issue resolution.
- If the issue persists, also try clean installing the printer drivers. Here are the steps:
- First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.
- Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP DeskJet printer entries and uninstall them.
- Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
- Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.
- Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
- Again, go to the Run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
- Restart your computer.
- Please click here to download and install the software.
- Connect the USB cable if prompted and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!
Eagerly waiting for your response!

Hello Mr. Jeet Singh,
First of all, I would like to thank you for replying to my question quickly. But unfortunately, the solutions you have provided me with have already been tested by me by searching the internet and it for some reason doesn't work, I would also like to give some more information about the issue such as when the page gets stuck I pressed the power button to turn off the printer and when it automatically turned on the page had a bit of printing on it which looked like the 'Printer Test Page' feature that windows provides with the operating system, and I also had another HP printer prior to this new one which was the HP Deskjet 2131 which didn't have such problems on the exact same laptop so I just taking a wild guess but the drivers that might have not gotten deleted may conflict with the newer drivers and just another question but does it have to do with the blinking lights and/ or the display/ control panel on the printer? Oh and yes I am currently connected via a USB but the laptop stops detecting the printer while it is in that error phase with the blinking lights.

Thank you for replying,
After reviewing your post thoroughly, In this scenario, I would suggest here is to do a Hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Remove USB cable, if present.
Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
Alternatively, I would suggest here is to follow the steps suggested in the support document for - HP DeskJet 2600 Printers - Blinking Lights
Keep me posted,

Thanks for your time Mr.Jeet Singh but I also called and HP employee and he told me that there might be something wrong with the printer itself so I went to the place where I bought the printer and exchanged it and now the new one works just fine and hasn't had any problems so far, Thank you for your time though!
