HP Officejet Pro 6830 e-All-in-One Printer

I used the printer a lot early last year choosing to black print when I remembered. Replaced black cartridge successfully but eventually colour cartridges ran out so I bought a whole new set installed them in October but cannot get them to print - the printer acts as if it’s printing - makes all the right noises but the page just comes out blank. Have tried to contact hp without success. Really cross at having spent £66 on their product with no result

After installing the new cartridges it is necassary to run a test page.

You state that you installed the new cartridges in October. Did the printer not operate as expected back then?

Have you used the HP Smart App to see how much ink is remaining?

Setting black print does not help since color cartridges are required for printing.  If your color cartridges are out of ink now, your printer will not print.

Thanks for your message but that doesn’t solve it. I tried using the printer yet as soon as I replaced the cartridges in October but couldn’t get it to work. I e mailed HP who responded to say I’d needed to book a support call. I tried that and was told my printer was too old. I then gave up but am so furious at having didn’t £60 on something that is useless I thought I’d have one last  go at trying to sort it.

interestingly the printer is now telling me my cartridges are low which I can’t as be the case as nothing has been printed since they were installed

mid you tell me how to do a test print now I’ll see if that stirs it into life

The user manual covers that in the Get Help from the printer control panel.

I suggest printing out the Printer status report

Try the solutions in the manual about Print quality is not acceptable

So the rest print worked faintly in one colour
I then tried to print t something else and it went through the motions but nothing on the page - same old same old

What did the test print show as remaining cartridge quantity?

Have you followed the user manual's available additional troubleshooting?

the screen says all ink cartridges are low which doesn’t make sense as I bought them new from HP and they haven’t printed anything since being installed - I assume it measures by time since installation rather than what’s actually in them. No I haven’t used the troubleshooting section as I couldn’t find anything helpful and I thought this forum was meant to help - is not I guess I have to go on Facebook to spread the word about how rubbish the product is

I haven’t had a response since my last post. Can anyone help or should I go into the Facebook community - or ditch the printer and never buy Hewlett Packard again?
