Hi @Friendo,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When an HP Officejet Pro printer displays an error code like B8084696 and all lights are flashing, it typically indicates a hardware or firmware issue. Here are some steps you can take to try and resolve the problem.

  • Power Cycle the Printer: Turn off the printer, disconnect the power cord from the outlet, and wait for about 60 seconds. Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer to see if the error persists.
  • Check for Paper Jams: Open the printer's access doors and check for any paper jams or obstructions inside the printer. Clear any jams carefully to ensure no torn pieces of paper remain.
  • Reset the Printer: Some HP printers have a reset option in the settings menu. Navigate through the printer's menu to find the reset option and perform a reset.
  • Update Firmware: Ensure that the printer's firmware is up to date. You can usually do this through the printer's settings menu or by visiting HP's official website and downloading the latest firmware for your printer model.
  • Check Ink Cartridges: Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and have enough ink. Sometimes, faulty or empty cartridges can cause errors.
  • Clean Print Head: If the printer has a removable print head, remove it and clean it according to the HP instructions. This can help resolve print quality issues that may trigger error codes.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
