My printer recently began printing black inki instead of yellow on color print jobs. I am using ONLY Genuine HP ink cartridges purchased through Walmart and/or Amazon. I replaced the yellow ink catridge on August 1st (purchased from Walmart.com), all print jobs were perfect unitl yesterday when the yellow turned black. Upon inspecting the ink cartridge cradle I can see that the black ink has leaked a bit. Could the black ink have gotten inside the yellow jets? If so, how do I clean it out? If not, what could be causing the problem?

I have gone through your Post and I would like to help
If the black ink is leaking and spilled inside the ink carriage, it might affect the other colors
You can manually try cleaning the cartridges and Ink carriage with a lint free cloth and then follow the steps below to clean the Printhead
-
Load plain white paper into the tray.
- Press and hold the Power button (
) while you perform the following button presses:
-
Press the Cancel button (
( two times.
-
Press the Resume button (
) once.
-
-
Release the Power button (
). The product cleans the printheads.
-
Wait while the product completes the printhead cleaning process, and then print another print quality diagnostic page to determine if the issue is resolved.
Keep me posted how it goes
Thank you and have a great day 😊

@KrazyToad, thank you for your suggestion. I cleaned what I could with a cotton swab and some alcohol, installed all new (Genuine HP) ink cartridges, and ran the print head cleaning to clean out the inside of the jets. However, after repeatedly cleaning the print heads and using way more of the other color inks than I wanted to use I still had black in the yellow. So, what I did was use Excel to color in a half page cell of just yellow and print pages until it ran clean. That way I was only using up the yellow instead of the black, cyan and megenta too. Eventually it did run clean. Thank you for all your help. Have a great day.
