The last couple of days my wireless printer wont print. I ran the Windows trouble shooter and it found nothing wrong. It has ink and plenty of paper. I resest the printer and my laptop and that didnt do any thing. I uninstalled and reinstalled the software. I ran the Print and scan doctor and it said it had fixed the problem but it didnt. When I try to print something, before it said network sharing wasnt turned on even though it is. When I check printers all it says is " attention required" and also the printer icon freezes in the task bar. A couple of times it printed test pages but when I tried to print a page from a saved notebook page, nothing printed. The printer is detected and on line. Just had a big bunch of updates from Microsoft dont know if that has anything to do with it. Tech support expired IM pretty much out of ideas on what to do. Driver is updated. Would appreciate any advice or if anybody has a similar problem.

The problem is back, ther next day after I reset my router the printer started doing the same thing. It shows Attention required, software problem. No driver to update. My printer will copy, scan and print it out but printing documents or anything else I get Printer needs attention again. Then HP support assistant shows the printer is connected and online. When I turn the printer office I get message the Sacan to print is no longer enabled. All elements on the diagnostic page are good. Any more advice. Is this something that is just common with HP printers?

I've tried just about everything you posted on your email except setting up a static IP address. I ran Scan Doctor it says the problem has been fixed yet the printer Icon in the contro panel shows "needs attention". It prints out the manual test page that says there nothing mechanicially wrong with the printer. Printer spooler is ok, all servies show ok. When I used the HP Smart assistant it shows printer is ok and ready. The printer shows it connected to wifi all the spec's show ok. Im at a loss what to do, The printer is only about 3 years old and doesnt get used all that much but has printed fine before the last couple of days. I cant get to the printers IP home page, I just get a blank web screen. I've ran the Windows 10 trouble shooter and it finds nothing. I've about had it. I appreciated your advise. HP tech support is too expensive considering the cost of the printer.

Thanks for the reply.
Let's try to delete the driver and root level and retry, follow the steps below:
In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
Once done, follow this link and install the full feature driver software. 🙂
Keep me posted,

Yesterday I changed the channel on my router and messed it up. I had to reset the router for it to take my password and start the wifi. Today I turned on the printer and its showing active. I tried printing out a couple of document and they printed out fine. I guess it might have had some network problem. I have havent tried anything you recommended in your second email. Im going to archive them all and see how my printer performs for the next few day. I really appreciate your help. It's been very informative, thank you very much. I hoe the problem is now solved.
