HP Deskjet F4135

Hi, After installing new black and color cartridges, the printer keeps asking me to align but not recognizing it when I do. If I turn it off and on it prints a new alignment page, I go through the process again and it is creating a regular scan of the page, not seeing it as a scan for alignment.  Always worked before. Can anyone help? Thanks,

@lisbonslady, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Have you tried using an alternate black ink cartridge and check if the issue persists?

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

Check estimated ink levels and replace any low or empty ink cartridges.

Clean the printhead or ink cartridge

Perform step 6 mentioned in this document.

To know how to align newly installed print cartridges, refer to page 70 of the user guide.

Let me know how this goes.

Hi,

Thanks for your suggestions but none of these worked. The printer still wants to align, still prints a page when it's turned on and when I scan the alignment page it's literally handling it as a regular scan and now I have a folder full of alignment page scans and the printer still isn't satisfied.

It works fine besides, but the printing of the page and prompts all the time are getting on my nerves. Any other suggestions? Any way to turn off the alignment prompt? This is an old printer, I was hoping to save money and keep using it for awhile.

Thanks,

We will not be able to turn off the Alignment prompt. Every time a new ink cartridge is used, the printer automatically asks you to perform the alignment to obtain best print quality. If the alignment is not successful initially, you may experience issues like this.

If the issue persists, please contact our HP Support team for Service Options as it could be a possible hardware issue:

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Select your product type below.

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Select the appropriate option based on your preference.

6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
