Hi @71olds,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP printer keeps going offline, there are several possible causes and solutions to consider.
- Check the connection: Ensure that your printer is connected to the same network as your computer or device. You can also try restarting both your printer and computer to establish a fresh connection.
- Update drivers: Outdated drivers can sometimes cause connectivity issues. Make sure your printer drivers are up to date by downloading the latest version from the HP website.
- Check printer settings: Make sure your printer is set to "online" in its settings. You can usually access these settings through your computer's control panel or system preferences.
- Restart the Print Spooler Service: In some cases, the Print Spooler Service on your computer may be experiencing issues. Restarting this service can help fix connectivity issues. To do this, open the Services app on your computer and find the Print Spooler Service. Right-click on it and select "Restart."
- Disable sleep mode: If your printer is set to enter sleep mode after a certain period of inactivity, this may be causing it to go offline. Disable sleep mode in your printer's settings to prevent this.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
