HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e All-in-One Printer

I have the Main Tray set to Tray 1.  Tray 1 has Letter size paper in it.  I just put in Photo Paper into Tray 1 and everytime I try to print I get an error message because the printer keeps trying to print this 8x10 on my envelopes, which are in Tray 2.  I've tried to have it automatically select the paper.  I've tried to tell it to use the default tray.  I've tried to tell it to use the alternate tray.  I've verified in printer settings that Tray 1 is the Main tray.  For whatever stupid reason, the printer refuses to print on the proper paper.

It sounds frustrating that your HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e isn't recognizing the correct tray. Here are a few troubleshooting steps to fix this issue:

Check Printer Preferences on Your Computer

  1. Open Control PanelDevices and Printers.
  2. Right-click on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e and select Printing Preferences.
  3. Go to the Paper/Quality or Features tab.
  4. Make sure the Paper Source is set to Tray 1 and the Paper Type is set to Photo Paper.
  5. Click Apply and OK.

Check Printer Display Settings

  1. On the printer’s touchscreen, go to SettingsTray & Paper Management.
  2. Verify that Tray 1 is set as the default tray.
  3. Ensure that Tray 2 is not prioritized for photos.
  4. If necessary, disable Auto Select for the paper tray.

Reset Paper Size and Type in Tray 1

  1. Remove the photo paper and close the tray.
  2. Wait for the printer to recognize no paper is in the tray.
  3. Reinsert the 8x10 Photo Paper and select the correct paper type on the touchscreen when prompted.

Verify Print Job Settings

  1. When printing, go to Print Settings in your application (Word, Photoshop, etc.).
  2. Under Paper Source, select Tray 1 manually.
  3. Set the Paper Type to Photo Paper.
  4. Make sure Tray 2 is not selected anywhere.

Restart Printer and Computer

  1. Turn off the printer, unplug it for 60 seconds, and restart it.
  2. Restart your computer.
  3. Try printing again.

If the issue persists, let me know which software you're printing from and whether the problem occurs with all print jobs or just specific ones.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
