Hello!
I have an HP ENVY 5032 connected to my HP work laptop. The only problem I have is it leaves out chunks of text when printing. Everything else is fine, it scans, etc. I have changed the colour ink cartridge and both the colour and black levels are not low. I've aligned the cartridges and cleaned them. I'm not sure what else could be the problem.
It's the first time I've used it to print anything as I borrowed it from my sister as I'm working from home and she doesn't need it right now.
I'd appreciate any help.
Thank you.
Lisa.

The troubleshooting steps in the document here may help resolve black not printing properly on your Envy 5032 printer. In particular print a test page as shown in Step 8. Does the black test block print properly? If not there are a few things to check:
- Remove the black cartridge and clean the electrical contacts on the cartridge and in the printer as shown in the document here. While this document was written for different cartridges the principle is the same. After cleaning the contacts try again to print a test page.
- If the above does not resolve the issue likely the black cartridge will need to be replaced. Meanwhile, there are a few workarounds that you can try:
- Change the Quality settings to Best. This should show the missing areas.
- Remove the black cartridge and set it aside, then print a text document. This will force the use of ink backup mode where the color cartridge will be used.
Step 8: Print a Print Quality Diagnostic report
- Load the printer with plain white paper.
- On the printer control panel, swipe left on the display, and then touch Setup
- Touch Tools.
- Swipe up on the display, and then touch Print Quality Report.A Print Quality Diagnostic report prints.
