Printer goes through calibration process when turned on.
By maintenance do you mean does printer realign or perform printhead cleaning when you turn it on?
If yes,try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
And try re-aligning the printer-

Load plain white paper in the input tray.
-
From the printer control panel, open the Setup
menu. -
Open the Printer Maintenance or Tools menu.
-
Touch Align Printhead.
