HP Photosmart B209a
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The printer has been making grinding noises when the block of cartridges is on the right hand side of the printer under the cover. I've been getting general printer error ox60611beb for a couple of weeks. I have been able to get the printer working by switching it on and off and OKing the rror message. Yesterday and today, I've been getting a whirring noie when the block of cartridges is on tthe left hand side. I've got the general printer error back and can't get past that by switching on and off etc.

Thanks for your advice. I worked my way through the steps in the article you linked to, but I'm afraid it didn't make any difference. I have bought a replacement printer rather than spend any more time on trying to sort it out - scanning never worked properly anyway and my wife couldn't print on it from her Ipad so, with printers being as cheap as they are (I don't understand why), a new one was the way to go.
