Printer keeps saying that output bin is full when it is empty. There are no paper jams and there's paper in both trays.

Hi @MillieBuckyMom,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Clear the Printer Message
- Sometimes, simply acknowledging the message can resolve it. Open and close the output bin door to reset the sensor.
- On the printer's control panel, press OK to bypass the error message.
Check the Output Bin Sensor
- Dust or debris can sometimes block the sensor. Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the area around the output bin sensor.
- Ensure that nothing is mistakenly triggering the sensor, such as small pieces of torn paper.
Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer using the power button and disconnect the power cord from both the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait approximately 60 seconds, then reconnect the power cord.
- Turn the printer back on and see if the error persists.
Update Printer Firmware
- Outdated firmware can cause unusual errors. Ensure that your printer's firmware is up-to-date. You can check for firmware updates through the HP Support website or via the HP Smart app.
Check Printer Settings
- Verify if any queued print jobs have special settings or configurations that might cause this error.
- Clear the printer queue on your computer to ensure no jobs stuck in a loop.
Connection Issues
- Ensure that your printer's connection to the computer or network is stable. Reset the connection if necessary.
I hope this helps.
