Hi @Badbird,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The "Printer not activated, error code 30" typically indicates a communication issue between your computer and the printer. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue.

Restart Your Devices:

  • First, restart both your computer and the HP OfficeJet Pro 8035 printer. Sometimes, a simple restart can fix communication errors.

Check Printer Connections:

  • Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your wireless network. Use the printer's control panel to verify its wireless connection status.
  • If there are any issues with the wireless connection, try re-establishing the connection by going through the printer’s wireless setup process.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Make sure you have the latest printer drivers installed on your Windows 11 desktop. Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause communication errors.
  • Visit the HP website, locate the OfficeJet Pro 8035 printer model, and download the latest drivers for Windows 11.

Run Printer Troubleshooter:

  • Windows 11 has built-in troubleshooting tools that can help identify and resolve printer-related issues. Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters, then select Printer and follow the prompts.

Reinstall Printer:

  • If updating the drivers and troubleshooting didn’t resolve the issue, try removing and reinstalling the printer on your Windows 11 desktop.
  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners, select your printer, and click Remove device. Then, reinstall the printer by clicking on Add a printer or scanner and follow the on-screen instructions.

Check Printer Settings and Permissions:

  • Ensure that the printer is set as the default printer (Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners > Select your printer > Manage > Set as default).
  • Also, check that there are no print permissions or firewall settings blocking communication with the printer.

Update Windows 11:

  • Make sure your Windows 11 operating system is up to date. Updates often include bug fixes and improvements that could resolve compatibility issues with printers.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the "Printer not activated, error code 30" issue on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8035 printer connected to your new Windows 11 desktop.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
