My HP DeskJet All in One printer won't print colored documents. I have a full clean color ink cartridge. I have removed my printer from my printers and scanners and readded it. I have checked up updated firmware and nothing is working. I don't have the ability to choose on print preview color or black and white. When I print a test document from my printer and not my computer, it prints in color. I'm not sure what else to do to get my color working again.

Thank you for any insight!

There have been cases where the driver simply does not detect and enable the color capabilities of the printer. The solution depends on which operating system your computer is using.

If you are using a PC then follow do the following on your PC. Go to control panel>devices and printers and then right click on the icon for your printer and select "printer properties" from the drop down menu. Click on the device settings tab and scroll down until you see device type and change to color from either auto or monochrome.

If you do not see these options it is possible that you have the wrong driver installed. Clicking on the advanced tab instead of device settings will show you which driver has been installed. If it is a Microsoft IPP or Class driver it likely does not have color support and you will need to install the correct HP driver.
