After, completely updating windows, reinstalling drivers, installing brand new instant ink cartridges and aligning the cartridges twice, once through the windows app and once through the printer with the touch display, I am getting prints that are off centre. i.e. I am printing full colour photos on A4 plain paper and the left margin is 2mm and the right is 4mm. The top and bottom margin are also about 1mm out from being centred. I have checked the paper tray, the printer is brand new, but have checked for other physical obstructions. I understand that there will be a border around the image due to printing on plain paper.
Using this printer on windows has given me nothing but depression since I purchased it. I do have slightly better results printing from my android phone (the colour is vastly different depending on the device I print form, android bring the best) but the tools seem limited. But I digress.
Why is the printer not printing in the centre of the paper with equal margins after all alignments?

Hi @kebebasan,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you've already gone through quite a few troubleshooting steps, so let's try to narrow down the issue further.
- Paper Alignment: Ensure that the paper guides in the tray are adjusted correctly to hold the paper firmly in place. Even a slight misalignment here can cause the printout to be off-center.
- Print Settings: Double-check the print settings in Windows 11 to ensure they match the paper size and type you're using. Sometimes, incorrect settings can cause the printer to misalign the printout.
- Printer Properties: In Windows, right-click on the printer from the Devices and Printers window, select "Printer Properties," and look for any options related to paper handling or alignment. There might be settings that can help adjust the printout placement.
- Calibration: Some printers offer advanced calibration options that can fine-tune the printout alignment. Check if your printer has any calibration tools or options in its settings menu.
- Firmware Update: Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, firmware updates can address issues related to print quality and alignment. Update the firmware on an HP printer

Hi,
thanks for the response.
Nothing you have mentioned has worked. In all fairness, everything had been updated/aligned/settings reset etc before your comment, I double checked everything was fine to be sure and it's OK. The thing is, it only seems a few mm out. Enough to kill the presentation of the image. Perhaps a fault with the printer itself? Any chance I can send you images?
I also get varying colour results depending on the device I print from. I have an ASUS laptop, Samsung laptop, Google phone.... all of which produce different coloured results. The ASUS seemingly being the worst! My colour profile in windows (on both ASUS and Samsung) are set to default.
