Hi have a Deskjet 1510 All-in-One series that I use with my Macbook using the cord (not wireless). It was working fine until I changed the black ink cartridge 2 days ago and now it wont print (Calidad alternative for HP 61XL).
I have tried to reset the printer, restart my laptop, I had a look in the settings and printer utilities (done a printheads clean, a paper feed clean, an alignment,...) and it seems to be printing fine when doing these (ink levels check), however nothing happens when I try to do the 'print test'.
The printer appears on 'In use, last used' status in the settings, with an orange dot next to it.
If I try to print a document, it says 'ready to print', then 'waiting for printer to become available'.
There is no flashing light or anything on the printer itslef.
Hopefully someone can help me figure this out, it seems to be able to print so would be a shame to have to replace it. Thanks folks

Hi @ClaireDPT,
Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand your concern
To assist better-
- Are you able to make a copy?
- Which application are you trying to print from?
- Have you tried to print from different applications?
Update the printer firmware
Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your Mac.
Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.
Also, check for any software updates on Mac
Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi Andy,
thank you for your assistance.
I have tried the different steps you recommended:
- I have checked and there is no updates to be done
- I have reinstalled the software on my mac. The only problem was when, during the last step when it says "add and verify your device" you have the opportunity to do a test scan - which worked fine - and a test print - which once again did not do anything at all, no reaction from the printer.
- I have tried to photocopy a document, and that works fine.

@ClaireDPT,
Thank you for your response, I appreciate your efforts. Now please go ahead and try the below steps and let me know.
Add the printer using Apple AirPrint drivers.
1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign
to delete the printer.
3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button
at the bottom of the list.
4.) Click the plus sign
click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.
5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.
6.) Try to print.
Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution. Click the “Kudos/Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping!

Hi there,
Thanks a lot for your time. Unfortunately I still haven't resolved the issue.
I have followed the steps you recommended - deleted the printer, and then added it again. When I did, the status of the printer was green "idle". I tried to print a document, and in the 'job' window it said first 'printing' with the evolution of the printing stage (70% completed, etc) but still nothing happened with the printer. Then the 'job' window says 'waiting for printer to become available'. When I then stop the printing job and close that window, the printer goes back to green 'Idle, last used' in the parameters.
