Hi @CharlPrinter,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If the power button and two orange lights on your HP DeskJet 2700 printer are blinking, it usually indicates an issue that needs attention. Here are some general steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem.
Check for Paper Jams:
- Make sure there is no paper jam in the printer. Open the printer cover and check for any stuck paper. If you find any, carefully remove it.
Ink Cartridge Issues:
- Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed. Open the printer cover and check the ink cartridges to make sure they are securely in place.
Low Ink Levels:
- Check the ink levels in the cartridges. If the ink levels are low, replace the cartridges with new ones.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer, unplug the power cord, and wait for about 60 seconds. Plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer. This will perform a basic reset.
Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers:
- Make sure you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. If not, download and install the latest drivers from the official HP website.
Check for Firmware Updates:
- Visit the HP support website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. If there are, follow the instructions to update the firmware.
Check for Obstructions:
- Ensure that there are no obstructions in the paper path. Sometimes, small pieces of paper or foreign objects can cause issues.
Inspect for Hardware Issues:
- If the problem persists, there might be a hardware issue.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
