My printer is coming up with the code C4EB9032 - when it is switch on, it starts up, but the scanner/laser doesn't go across the page and then the error shows up.  I have tried several times over the last few days turning off and on.  Help!  Is there a contact number I can call?

Hi @Amanda0903,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code C4EB9032 on your HP printer typically indicates an issue with the printer's scanner mechanism or firmware. Here’s a step-by-step guide to resolve the issue.

Perform a Power Reset

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Disconnect any USB or Ethernet cables (if applicable).
  3. Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  4. Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
  5. Check if the issue persists.

Check the Scanner/Printer for Obstructions

  1. Open the printer lid or scanner bed.
  2. Inspect for any paper, debris, or obstructions preventing the scanner bar from moving.
  3. Gently clean the scanner glass and bar using a lint-free cloth and a small amount of glass cleaner.
    • Avoid spraying cleaner directly on the glass.
  4. Close the lid and try restarting the printer.

Update the Printer Firmware

  1. Go to the HP Software and Driver Downloads website.
  2. Enter your printer model and download the latest firmware updates.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the firmware.

Perform a Semi-Full Reset (Advanced)

If the issue persists:

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Press and hold the Power button and the Cancel button (or the relevant combination for your model).
  3. While holding, plug the printer back in and release the buttons once it starts powering up.
  4. The printer should reset to factory defaults.
  5. Reconfigure your printer settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
