I just changed my ISP. I followed instructions to Restore Network Settings and then successfully set up new network. The blue light is steady and I checked the Network Settings are correct. I could not print and got 'printer not connected message'. I looked for a solution in the forum and followed instructions to reset the printer in System Preferences. So I deleted, selected the printer from the list and pressed 'Add'. I get a window saying it is setting up and then the message: 'Unable to verify the printer on your network. Unable to connect to 'HP OfficeJet Pro 6970 [my serial number]._ipps._tcp.local.' due to an error'.
What else can I do to reconnect my printer and be able to print, thank you

@bee_dee, Welcome to HP Support Community!
Update the printer firmware using this link. Click Here
If you have a dual-band router, make sure it is set to the 2.4 GHz band. If your router is set to the 5 GHz band, the printer cannot connect to the network.
Bonjour support: HP recommends routers that support Bonjour, Apple's network discovery software. Connecting with Bonjour is the best way to find the printer and support wireless printing.
Temporarily disable firewall software on the computer, if any.
Restart the computer, printer, and router
Restart the computer, printer, and router to resolve any network or communication error states.
NOTE:
The following steps temporarily disconnect network and Internet connections, and require restarting your computer. Complete any tasks or downloads in progress before continuing.
-
Disconnect the power cord from the router.
-
Turn off the printer.
-
Close all running programs on your computer, including the HP software installation window, then shut down the computer.
-
Reconnect the power cord to the router, then wait for the Internet activity light to display a normal connected status.
-
Turn on the printer.
-
Turn on the computer.
Also, try the steps recommended below.
1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
2.) If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.
3.) Click the plus sign , click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.
4.) Confirm AirPrint displayed in the Use or Print Using menu, and then click Add.
5.) Open a document or photo, click File, and then click Print.

I've downloaded the Firmware to my computer, but because the computer is unable to find the device (printer) the Firmware update can't get to the printer. I can't download direct to the printer (deskjet 3630 series) so I'm no further forward. I've tried all the other options of turning everything off etc.

Could you please help me with the exact model name or the product number of the printer and the operating system of the computer?
Do you see any error message?
Keep me posted.
Thank you for joining the HP Community.
Have a great day!
