I bought the printer (Smart tank 581) some months ago and it has never worked properly. It goes from online to offline every other minute. I changed the usb wire to a new one and the same problem occurs. The motherboard is new, all usb ports working with other devices. When I click to print somehting, it prints only the first page of the document and half of the second page (and a popup error appears on screen saying there is an error). Then it stops, starts making sounds and then it starts to print the document again from the first page and it goes on and on like that until I cancel the process. I’ve already uninstalled everything a couple of times. Anyone knows what might be happening?

Hi @Denisedomenico,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
I see that you are facing an issue with your Printer showing offline.
A) Please follow the steps below to perform a power drain.
1) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.
2) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.
3) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.
4) Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Power on the printer
B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.
C) Refer to the steps on this link to further troubleshoot.
D) If the issue still persists, refer to the steps on this link to restore factory defaults and let me know if that resolves the issue.
