HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium

My HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium all-in-one printer is printing original, however on top of the original it started to print huge black streaks on the page.  I did the printer clean 3 times, I aligned the printer heads.  I turned off printer, unplugged from wall.  waited 5 min and re-plugged back into the wall socket, turned on the printer and waited another 5 min.  Printed out another page, same thing is happening.  HOWEVER, if I print in color, everything is ok.   Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you. I see that you have already tried possible troubleshooting steps.

  • Try making a standalone copy in black and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.
  • Do you have the black streak on the test reports printed from the printer too?

Thank you for your suggestions on this issue

The issue only happened for one day (hmmmm very strange, maybe the coronia19 virus hit it!  lol just kidding)

I did however, download updated drivers and software.  hopefully this solves the issue at hand.

it is an old all in one printer and i just love it.  Really will hate to break in a new one at this time.
